Tampa - Silver Glass Productions in partnership with Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse will feature author and Florida Atlantic University Professor Whitney A. Bauman to the monthly event New Seeds.

Bauman will talk about the history of ecofeminism discourse. The discussion will move beyond the debates of gender to delve into a deeper focus on sexual characteristics and identity politics and how they have evolved within nature and religion.

“Many are familiar with the term “ecofeminism,” Bauman said in a news release. “I intend to discuss this familiar term from angles and perspectives that have not yet been deeply deliberated.”

The event will be at 8 p.m. today, Sept. 17, at Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse, 4819 E. Busch Blvd., Tampa. Along with the guest lecture, the event will feature poetry performed by local poets from the Tampa Bay area.

Bauman is an assistant professor of religion and science at Florida International University in Miami. He is the author of Theology, Creation, and Environmental Ethics. He is also the co-editor of Grounding Religion: A FieldGuide to Religion and Ecology and Inherited Land: The Changing Grounds of Religion and Ecology. Bauman is working on his second book, Religion, Nature, and ##### Theory: Opening Spaces for Dialogue.
