Described by Canadian Literature as “one of those rare poets who gets the recipe of humanness exactly right,” Sasenarine Persaud will be reading from his latest books, Love in a Time of Technology (recently shortlisted for the Guyana Prize for Literature) and Lantana Strangling Ixora (also shortlisted for the Guyana Prize). Persaud, whose work has been published in several countries and is used in schools and universities in Canada, the Caribbean, India, Italy, South America, the UK and the US, will also talk about the writing process and answer questions on writers, writing and publishing.
Persaud is the author of 12 books: 2 novels, a collection of short stories, Canada Geese and Apple Chatney and 9 poetry collections. He has received several awards for his writing including: the KM Hunter Foundation Award (Toronto) and the Epstein Fellowship at Boston University.
