TECO Public Art Gallery proudly presents local artist Candace Knapp in a solo exhibition titled, Luminous Passages. With a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois, she is known to many of us locally for her sensuous sculptural work in wood. In Luminous Passages, Candace shares her newest large-scale paintings with Tampa Bay arts enthusiasts. “There is something magical about light falling on water,” she says in her Artist Statement.
The magic is in the watery world created by Ms. Knapp in these beautiful acrylic paintings of shimmering surfaces and reflections of sunlit spaces and deep, dark mysterious places. The colorful paintings invite us to pause and reflect on the watery world that makes up so much of our Florida environment. We invite visitors to do just that during the upcoming holiday season.
SPECIAL NOTE: Please join artist Candace Knapp on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at TECO Public Art Gallery. She will host a Talk & Tour of her exhibition and share thoughts about her work and inspirations. Ms. Knapp will also have copies of her book “Messages from Imaginary Friends” for sale at the event, which is FREE and Open to the Public.
