Author Event, Book Launch & Discussion - Monsoon on the Fingers of God

How do human migration and movement affect identity? With readings from his new book, Monsoon on the Fingers of God, the author explores the quirks of  identity and migration. Expect a lively discussion as most residents in the area have come from elsewhere.

Persaud continues his exploration of form and improvisations on styles, rhythm/taal and raagic moods in an examination of identity, history and human migrations. Using the 2014 Scottish referendum as touchstone, Monsoon on the Fingers of God  examines the tensions attendant on identity and belonging inherent in a global world where peoples, ideas and cultures migrate and interact on a scale never before seen in human history—a flux which energizes the author’s work.
