About this class What we’ll do: Collagraphs are an accessible, very affordable and safe printmaking technique that can produce some very unusual and exciting results. The printing plates are made with non specialist materials using textures to create
Collagraphs are printed using an etching press.
This course is a perfect introduction to this intaglio technique, and will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to develop, experiment and produce your own plates.
Perfect for newcomers or returners and certainly for those with previous Collagraph printmaking experience.
What to bring: *1 sheet (19.5 x 25.5 inches) of acid-free, 100% cotton printing paper will be provided per class registration. This will get you started (good for about 2 or 3 prints, depending on the size of your plate). Beyond this, students will be responsible for their own paper, to be purchased at an art supply store. Information on papers and where to purchase them will be supplied in class. No need to bring paper on the first day of class. *Your sketch book, photographs or other for inspiration. *Wear old clothes or an apron.
