Fabulous Fashions from the Tampa Bay Hotel

1890s women’s fashion lecture

From ballgowns to corsets, hats to bathing suits, ladies fashions in the 1890s are full of social significance and hiding meaning.  Visit the Henry B. Plant Museum on December 20 to hear Harper Franklin, student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, discuss trends and meaning in ladies sportswear fashions of the late 1800s.  Franklin will showcase different pieces of fashion, explain their meanings, and discuss how social status and more could be determined by female fashion choices.


This program is free and open to the public.  Reservations are not necessary.  It will take place in the Music Room of Plant Hall.  Admission to the Museum is not included.  Museum admission is $15 adults, $13 seniors, $9 youth (4-18)
