Historic Tampa Churches Book Signing

Join Author John Cinchett as he discusses the history of Tampa’s oldest churches.

Like a treasured family heirloom, the congregations of Tampa lovingly care for their historic churches and temples with great devotion.  Passed along from generation to generation, these architectural gems serve as a reminder of those countless men and women who selflessly labored for the growth of the Church, leaving a lasting legacy of faith and good works.  Their benevolent acts of kindness were commissioned by their vocation to serve the people of God.  These houses of worship stand today as symbols of the devotion, strength, and unity that have nurtured the faithful from the very beginning of Tampa’s formative years and are considered to be many of Tampa’s most historically significant structures.  Historic Tampa Churches includes many never-before-seen photographs collected from church archives that will take the reader on a walking tour of Tampa’s oldest churches, meticulously cared for and maintained by their proud faithful year after year.

Author John V. Cinchett is a third-generation Tampa native and local history writer who dedicates his efforts to the preservation of historic Tampa photographs.  He is also a church musician who has served as music minister and organist at historic Tampa-area churches for more than thirty years.
