
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks! Homeruns & History celebrates more than 130 years of Tampa Bay’s baseball traditions, from Little League to Major League. Wear your favorite team colors or uniform to show your love of the game.
The Tampa Baseball Museum at the Al Lopez House, along with the Ybor City Saturday Market and Ybor City Museum Society, will host Homeruns & History, a free family-friendly event to celebrate Tampa Bay’s rich history and unique relationship with the game.
Homeruns & History will feature appearances by Professional Baseball alumni, team mascots, games, raffles, auctions, great prizes, and vendors. It will also feature baseball-inspired food, music, fun and comradery celebrating the sport. Attendees are encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing their uniforms, favorite team apparel, or team colors.
A special outdoor exhibit will be on display and includes some of Tampa’s iconic baseball players representing multiple areas of Tampa, including Al Lopez (Tampa’s first, player, manager and Hall of Fame Inductee), Wade Boggs, Lou Piniella, Tony La Russa, Tino Martinez, Gary Sheffield, Fred McGriff and Gary Sheffield. Also featured will be a Saladino Tournament exhibit will be on display that includes Tampa’s MLB players who have played in this annual tournament for local high school teams.
Stay a while and enjoy the adjacent Ybor City Saturday Market, where you will find locally-produced items as well as delicious foods and beverages.
