Trained as a weaver and later an architect, Rebecca Quigley is inspired by the tactile colorful nature of her surroundings. She uses felting and stitching with wool and silk to express her art. See it and meet her at the opening reception.
Invocation is defined as summoning a source of inspiration. Rebecca Quigley is inspired by the tactile, colorful nature of her surroundings. Educated as a weaver and later an architect, Rebecca uses felting as a natural progression of her training. Her “alien landscapes” express that playful vision and freedom. This freedom is only restricted by the physics of making an object.
In her exhibition Rebecca explores a variety of materials and combines mediums and techniques such as felting and stitching with wool and silk fibers and woven silks; and the use of fiber to make paper. The opening reception features a chance to meet the artist, and gain insight into her story and process. The show will be on view through March14.
