Paper Clay and More with Vickie Scarlett-Fisher
Please note, this event has expired.
During this weekly class students will explore building armatures and sculpting with paper (or air-dry) clay!
Unlike traditional clays that need to be fired in a kiln, paper/air-dry clays harden and cure at room temperature. Once dry, the pieces can be painted and decorated in a variety of ways.
In this class students will learn: how to construct armatures (the frameworks on which a clay sculpture is molded) using foil, Styrofoam, wire, cardboard, etc.; how to mix and sculpt with paper/air-dry clay; how to apply acrylic paint to finished pieces; and how to create mixed media and/or assemblage pieces.
Students may purchase clay at the LEC. Please contact us prior to your first class for a materials list.
