Carrollwood Players Theatre announces open auditions for The Mountaintop by Katori Hall
Directed by Joshua Goff
A gripping re-imagining of events the night before the assassination of the civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
On April 3, 1968, after delivering one of his most memorable speeches, an exhausted Dr. King retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel while a storm rages outside.
When a mysterious stranger arrives with some surprising news, King is forced to confront his destiny and his legacy to his people.
The Mountaintop is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
Presented with the support of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.
AUDITION DATES:
Sunday, Nov. 15th, 2020 – 7 p.m.
AND
Monday, Nov. 16th, 2020 – 7 p.m.
Auditions will take place in person at Carrollwood Players Theatre
4333 Gunn Highway, Tampa, FL, 33618.
Strict health and safety protocols will be enforced at this audition, including limited attendance, social distancing, and mask enforcement.
You MUST complete the online audition form at least 72 hours prior to the audition date so that we can send you complete details about health and safety protocols. These details will be sent approximately 1-2 days prior to the audition.

PRODUCTION DATES:
February 12th – 21st, 2021
Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm
Tech Week:
Feb. 8th – 11th, 2021
Must be available for all tech week rehearsals and all performances.
No experience necessary. All roles are unpaid. All roles are available.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script. These selections will be provided electronically 1 to 2 days prior to the audition. Feel free to read the sides beforehand and get familiar with the material.
