Plans, promotes and conducts recreational activities; teaches and/or oversees fine arts, special events and preschool or programs for the elderly or disabled; schedules center activities; counsels participants as necessary.
Operates audiovisual equipment such as video projectors; operates power tools and equipment necessary to ceramic, glass studios.
Plans, organizes and conducts diverse programs of special recreation activities and events designed to meet the needs of preschool children or elderly or disabled citizens such as sports, music, arts and crafts, social recreation, dramatics, camping, dancing, and swimming.
Performs clerical work; prepares and submits reports; verifies purchase orders and requisitions; takes orders and purchases supplies for activities; checks in and puts supplies away; receives monies from class participants; writes receipts for supplies and equipment; maintains records, logs, lists, and forms.
Inspects recreational facilities and equipment to ensure safety; enforces proper safety practices and occupational safety rules and regulations; oversees operation of assigned area in absence of higher level workers; ensures security of building.
Directs visitors at center; answers phones and provides information concerning programs and use of center.
Performs related work as required.
