Moving Current dance collective is a collection of artists that are simply crazy about dance – one of Florida’s finest and Tampa’s own professional modern dance company presenting modern and aerial dance. We live and create in Tampa, we are dancers, choreographers, educators and dance advocates. We collaborate with artists to create experiences that provide people of every age and every background the opportunity to learn and express themselves through movement, without compromising the integrity of modern dance.
Moving Current dance collective presents modern and aerial dance as one of Florida’s top professional dance companies. Currently, the Company is in Residence at the University of South Florida. Moving Current is also a member of the Arts on Tour, Florida’s State Touring Roster. Dedicated to strengthening the arts in their community, Moving Current shares evening length concerts of their own work with national and international dance artists, their annual NewGrounds concert; dedicated to producing Florida’s choreographers, Artists in the Schools and BIG Dances for small spaces (a performance for non-traditional spaces); and collaborates with the Life Enrichment Center teaching and directing an annual multi-generation project with Forever Moving, a dance group ages 58-75.
