Introducing StART class instructor, visual artist, Cora Waterhouse. Cora has been making and teaching art for over 35 years. She has presented Afterschool Art Classes, Art Discovery Camps and Museum Outreach Programs to children of all ages in California, Georgia, and Florida, and has taught adult classes to students from all over the world. She co-founded of the Visual Artists Alliance of Lagrange, in Georgia, and is a past juror of 2-D works for the Atlanta Dogwood Festival.

Waterhouse has just returned to the United States, settling here in Tampa, after living and teaching in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the past 5 years. Although a travel junkie, Cora maintains an active studio no matter where she is. She accepts freelance Illustration work, portrait commissions in pastels and oils, and often slips in landscapes and still life paintings of the exotic places she’s been and trinkets she’s gathered.

An enthusiastic art advocate and consummate teacher, Cora is constantly revising her aesthetic perspectives and rewriting her lesson plans. She is obsessed with finding new ways to present classic skills to her students. She is very proud to bring her talent and her teachings to the Old Hyde Park Art Center.
