Art has always been part of my life although its expression was random. This changed when I was forced into early retirement in 2009 due to Parkinson’s, which turned a negative into a positive when I decided art would be my purpose for rising each morning.

In 2010 I started my art career with a few oil painting lessons, which gave me the fundamentals necessary to express myself on canvas on a daily basis.

By 2013 I found the currage to expose my work to the public by setting up a booth in a local art and crafts show. My paintings received positive reviews and I sold three pieces.

In 2014 I entered three images in a juried art contest presented by an art gallery in Cincinnati, Art Design Consultants. Out of 1600 entries submitted by artist around the country, they accepted one of mine. I didn’t win, but I won recognition.

I began traveling the juried art circuit and received mixed success. The last show I applied for and accepted, was within the 100 best shows. I sold over 2000 dollars worth of paintings.

My current project is to reach out to those with neurological disorders and the elderly to get them involved in painting. The medical community has realized the therapeutic benefits of art. I discovered those benefits soon after I started painting on a daily basis.
