Gallery221@HCC is pleased to announce the opening of Gabriel Ramos: Una pausa en un apuro, July 29, 2019 – September 26, 2019.
Gabriel Ramos (b. 1987 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico) is an internationally recognized artist currently living and working in Tampa Bay, FL. In Una pausa en un apuro at Gallery221@HCC, Ramos’ wire and fabric installations, which is largely inspired by his childhood memories of Puerto Rico, explore concepts of fragility, the ephemeral quality of home, and the potentiality of line and shape. Ramos received his MFA from Cornell University in 2018.
A reception will be held on Thursday, August 29 from 5:00-8:00pm, with a panel discussion with artist Kenny Jensen to begin at 6:00pm. The event will take place in the 2nd floor of the Learning Resources Center / Library building (DLRC), HCC Dale Mabry Campus. Food, libations, and music will be provided for free, courtesy of the gallery.
The event is free and open to the public; parking is also free on campus in any open lot.
