Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held during the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. This Saturday is always the last one in November.
Once a year, downtown Tarpon Springs celebrates the Small Business holiday and is transformed into a feast for the eyes. Painters, potters, jewelers, fiber artists, small businesses, local shops and others set up holiday displays for the public to browse and shop for distinctive gifts.
Tarpon Springs offers numerous interesting shopping opportunities, restaurants and breweries. Antique and salvage stores offer refurbished home décor, antiques, unique findings and yard art. Two century old department stores can be found on Tarpon Avenue, along with galleries selling local art, clothing and accessory boutiques, and more. Shops along the Sponge Docks sell soaps, sponges, olive oils, and other gift items.
