About the Arts Council of Hillsborough County

This arts and cultural calendar is a project of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County. Other programs and services of the Arts Council include:

We understand the importance of the creative economy. The Arts Council works with the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, Florida Cultural Alliance, Americans for the Arts and other agencies to advocate on behalf of artists and cultural organizations. The Arts Council is an active arts advocate in legislative and policy matters at all levels of government.

Arts License Plate

The Council invited artists statewide to submit a design for an arts license plate which was approved during the 1994 Florida Legislature. The sale of the plates raises funds that are directed back to the county in which they were sold specifically to support the arts in that community. When you purchase a Florida State of the Arts license plate in Hillsborough County, a portion of the plate fee is returned to the Arts Council and reinvested in cultural programs.

Arts Networking Meetings

Monthly meetings for artists and arts organizations to get together, share information and develop potential collaborations. The meetings are held at different locations each month to allow arts organizations to showcase their programs and facilities. Get notices of scheduled meetings by subscribing to the Arts Council's email list.

Cultural Organizations Directory

This searchable directory is maintained on the Arts Council's website and includes community arts organizations, galleries, museums, sponsors, studios, venues and more. This online Directory provides an easy reference guide and networking tool for artists and arts organizations, and a handy reference for the community. See the Cultural Directory on the Arts Council's website..
