Life Enrichment Center
The Life Enrichment Center (LEC) is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is for our students to fulfill their lifelong creative potential through the ageless engagement of the arts.
Located in North Tampa, the Life Enrichment Center offers over 20 art, health, and wellness classes for adults each week. Art classes include oil/acrylic, drawing, watercolor, creative writing, paper clay, photography, and bead weaving. Health and wellness classes include chair yoga, tai chi, and low impact. The Life Enrichment Center also offers Mah Jongg and bridge classes. The clubs that meet at the Life Enrichment Center include photography, book club, sisterhood tribe, Latin, stamp collectors, Tampa Bay Time Bank, North Tampa Arts League (NTAL), and bonsai. Members also enjoy day trips to museums, art galleries, parks, gardens, and more.
The goal of the LEC is to engage our community in classes and activities that offer our members a fun and creative place to develop skills, make friends, and live longer and healthier lives. We believe that lifelong learning is a crucial component as we age. Research shows that learning a new skill, especially after the age of 40, has a dramatic positive impact on our memory, happiness, and overall health. Additionally, adults who engage in learning activities reduce their risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s. The Life Enrichment Center also offers a scholarship program so that art and health and wellness classes are accessible to all members of our community at any income level.
