The quintessence of grand movie palace architecture, the Tampa Theatre was chosen by LIFE magazine as one of “America’s 21 Wonders.” A beloved community treasure since 1926, the Tampa Theatre was rescued from demolition in 1978 by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and later separated as a nonprofit organization.
